AOA Announces Behavioral Health

Dr. Nilay Bhasker Thaker recently concluded nearly a decade of service with the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and Frederick Health Primary Care. In addition to his activities as an educator and family physician, Nilay B. Thaker, D.O., spends time as a member of professional organizations such as the American Osteopathic Association.

The American Osteopathic Association (AOA) recently released the complete Behavioral Health Integration (BHI) Compendium as a free PDF through the AOA website, www.osteopathic.org. The compendium serves as a detailed yet easy to read resource for physicians interested in integrating behavioral health into an existing practice. The work is complemented by the BHI Collaborative webinar series Overcoming Obstacles, which includes information about effectively applying integration methods during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a member of the BHI Collaborative, AOA is committed to facilitating and sustaining the integration of both behavioral and mental health services in physician practices. Additional members include the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, among others.
